The Last Call

I call all my loved ones to say my last goodbyes
I know I'm not going to make it out alive
I hear panic in my voice
I feel my hands tremble as I hang up the telephone
I hear a loud bang as it hits the desk
I glance out the window
I can't see anything besides flames and smoke
My heart is pounding inside of my chest
I feel my throat closing up
My breath starts to shorten
Suffocating, I frantically look around to try and find a way out
The only way out is down
I take a leap of faith and jump out the window
As I fall to my death I pray for peace
For my loved ones will be sure to feel grief
