The Last We Had
I still vividly remember
When the grass grew old
It was neither rain nor too cold.
There was a time when sun was shining and the sky was bright
Now I’m looking around to find the glitter of that light.
Often the brown leaves would meet the ground
And that’s the time when our hearts went down.
Thunders have stopped and the earth turned dry
The farmers are praying for the sky to cry.
There was a time when the water was cold, blue and bold
Now I’m looking something to drink, but there is not a single link.
Never said a word, never did we cry
There is something each of us can do
We still have the time, we still have the faith
To make this world a better place.
