The Lavender Rose
The lavender rose
With so sweet a pose
Like a bright morning,
Longing for that sweet rose
Whose yearning is the music to my heart.
Standing above the rest in life and beauty.
Stay awhile, sweet flower.
Do not depart,
For your beauty is unlike the reds and yellows,
The pinks and the whites.
But your grace is like heaven,
And now my heart is frozen with love.
What, with the lavender rose
And its picture of happiness despite death.
For many seasons to come,
Your grace will make my heart feel at home.
So I will always be awaiting the arrival
Of the sweet lavender rose.
