The Lifeless Jungle

I must confess with much distress,
That I cannot express myself
With your "140 characters or less."
But in this age
It seems to be the only way.

In my upbringings I was never taught,
To be sitting and staring with no thoughts
Into the Lifeless Jungle.
"Hey let's go outside!"
No, no.... I'd rather hide
Behind this Lifeless Jungle.
I want to sit and watch the day go by.
As my eyes are glued to this small glow.
No, no.... I'd rather have my brain fry
As it slowly dies.

But maybe one day instead
Of lying in bed,
I'll go out and be on my way.
Such freedom it will feel,
To not have to be here
Trapped inside this Lifeless Jungle.
