The lightest touch

So in love with your fingers,
entwined with the strings of light...
In this gravity shifting
it’s harder to stay upright.
All the colours you carry around you just waft away
from the tiniest glance
I’m trying to cast your way,

all the music and laughter
that live in your fiery soul,
all the cracks in the surface,
the freckles – I love it all –
every glimpse of a smile in the curve
of your playful lips,
how it’s easy to pry them open
with fingertips,

all the lilac and blue and pink
of our sleepless nights,
I’m in love with the way
you squint at the neon lights,
with the way something goes so quiet
when you’re around,
with our every delicious and desperate
and shaky sound.
