The Little Picture

Little picture on the wall,
Nondescript and small,
Light in gilt so framed
With golden flowers full
In a vase of blue.

Who will notice you
There among the famous poses
Of known heads
Laughing amid English roses?

Smile to me your soft eyes,
And warm look of good intent.
Your time unnoticed
Brings no loss or fear.

Patient you wait
For one yet to come near.
One who will only see
All you are meant to be.
