The Little Slum Girl

The little slum girl sells flower of different colours,
From dawn to dusk,so lively touched
By her little fingers , sells flowers for
A coin only. Hungry tired her tender
Face oozes sun soaked droplets of
Sweat but indomitable she must have
To sell flowers , her little earnings must
Weave dreams of existence on the faces of her diseased
Disabled parents. She again shouts --
A handful of flowers only for a coin.
Other children of her age go to school
Bags full of books, the little slum girl
Stares at them , at their bags, uniforms
Her dreams shattered , tears roll down
Wiping off she again shouts ---
A handful of flowers only for a coin.
Thus a little slum girl sells flowers
She sells her innocence her dreams
For a coin.
