The Living

Eyes in old photos
stare back at me
from a distant past
I'll never know.
Each generation leering down
from their high perches,
judging my every move,
eavesdropping.
But I am the one
still breathing.
It is my salacious life
that is worthy of
indulgent observation
and curious eyes.
Today is a day
for the living.
