The Lonely Angel
In the depths of the dark roiling sea,
My mind would remain,
Often my angel beckoned to me,
But in my cave I would stay chained.
She would plead to her love,
An alluring melody so true,
Leave your devils grotto to join me above,
But my darkness blocked my field of view.
But the angel’s song would sway me yet,
Out of the abyss I began to climb,
The harrowing helplessness was thrown to the net,
But in my angel of love I had a cold hard find.
My happiness grew to clouds so far,
Forever changed I became,
The happy man, a loving superstar,
But my angels love flowed to a new vein.
My heart would not accept this appalling fate,
To my last breath of air, I would vow to fight,
My angel’s connection to me could not abate,
Back her wings took her, to her long lost knight.
Now she forever remains in a fortress of love,
With the devoted champion she always dreamed of.
