The Lonely Man

You don’t know where I am from
You do not care who I am or what I've done
Why do you judge me the way you do
What have I done to cause this distress upon you

I wonder what you see
When you walk or drive by me
Do you see a man in distress
Or a man poorly dressed
Judging where I lay
Not knowing how lucky you are to have a warm place to stay

I do not want your pity
As I walk around in the city in the rain
All I ask is you tip your hat
To a man that fought your wars
And always had your back
