The Long Good-Bye

Slowly, breaks the tender heart
In your tired shell
Today's memories depart
Foggy confusion doth dwell

The once sharp mind
Drifting beyond recall
Emptiness, please be kind
You're loved by all

Weep for those left behind
Silently tears fall
Reaching, our outstretched hand
With boundless love, we call

Floating slowly into starlight
Go gently, do not stall
Losing you beyond our sight
Our love follows, embarrassing all
