The Look In His Eyes

By Toby

His eyes, poisonous with love
His blood, full of drugs
Will he love me or is he blind?
Is he kind? Will I ever know?

Am I the wall you keep hitting?
Or am I the clothes you keep hiding from?

Will I ever see the light?
I’m already so used to the dark.

The light emits warmth
The dark spreads cold
Are you my star or the flu?
Can I give you a hug or will I have to wash my hands too?

Will you give me love?
Or will I have to drive there first?

Why did your eyes, full of love, evaporate when we met?
Was I too bright?
I know I wasn’t a perfect match,
But I thought we could’ve lasted awhile,
Instead of only 5 rocky months
