The Loss of a Beautiful Soul
Don’t think of him as gone away,
His journeys just begun.
Life holds so many adventures,
And earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting,
From the sorrow and the tears.
In a place of warmth and comfort,
Where there are no days or years.
Think how he must be wishing,
That we could know today;
How nothing but our sadness,
Can really pass away.
And imagine him looking down,
Seeing the sorrow in your eyes.
Wishing he could send a message,
If he could only write..
“ your pain and tears are seen,
And completely understood.
There is no one or right way.
There is no "have to” or “should”.
Your grief is completely valid,
It’s a demonstration of your love.
Oh how I wish I could be there,
To give you one last hug.
But now my time has ended,
It’s your turn to move on.
I love you all so dearly,
And remember, I’m never gone.“
So think of him as living,
In the hearts of those he’s touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost,
And he was loved so much.

A month or so ago, a close friend of mine died due to heart failure. Many of his friends were grieving and I wrote this in his honor. Hope you like it.
