“The Lost Year” – Dedicated to my sister Debbie 3-28-1953 / 01-31-2020

By

Kissed my sister goodbye, there's a mask on my face,
left a picture of Mary, she's taken my place...
Went out for a walk by the castle of grace,
a rainbow appeared, there's tears on my face...
By valentines day a pandemic took over,
masked lovers kept distant, will they recover?
A drive by birthday in April my gifts were dropped off,
I'd rather be on the boat, not trapped by a moat...
The lost year dragged on, it was a long, hot, summer,
can I go swimming? No! oh what a bummer...
My cooking and baking is gaining respect,
my collections of recipes tested by the best...
Our uncle built a shelf and decorated it with vases,
it's really quite amazing and touches all our graces...
Now it's the most brilliant autumn, and people are doing
online shows...all my travels are still virtual...
100 more to go!
