The Lullaby

The wolves
they howl a lullaby
softy, ever so softly in the back of my mind
urging me to sleep
and dream of an escape to the wild
to run free of this life
Where streams flow strong
and trees grow tall
where the breeze is either
a soft kiss
or a ravaging tempest
where the rains
may cleanse my skin
wash it clean
of the chains that bind
So my heart and soul may rejoice
so i may find myself
and be better for Her
to have an honest smile
That I may stay for a while
The wolves, they howl.
