The man and the moon

The stars screamed as he reached for the moon,
The moon stared at the stars-a silent plea to stay quiet,
The stars knew the moon would come back soon, bloody and bruised,
Why did the moon let the man treat her so poorly?
He wasn't always like this...
He use to be sweet, caring, and kind, what happened?
Maybe it was the booze he became invested in, or the way she couldn't make him happy like the other moons
A silent tear slipped down the moon's face,
She didn't want to the stars to know what was happening,
When the man was done she quietly slipped into the sky with the stars,
The next day she laughed with the other moons who were keeping the man happy.
