The man I adore

Young I was, I met a man,
He opted to be my journey man.
He was, he has been
from then-till now,
Let me share how the story began.

He taught me how to face fears,
He; mightier to expunge the tears.
Never saw him doomed over the years,
Always the one yielding the cheers.

Charming, tall and fit,
Qualities as such, one would love to inherit.
Wretched I feel to find dotage hit,
May be that's the verity one can't ever quit.

Face that gleamed with smiles before,
Got augmented with wrinkles, more!
Feet that ran through every door,
Can barely let him walk on the floor.
Difficult to see the man grow old,
Tough to discern the man I adore!
