The Man Who Loved A Rose
It all happened in three seconds, all in seconds thrice
He stared forwards, towards the glowing sunrise
And then he turned to me, with an expression full of woes,
And then he said to me, "I once fell in love with a rose."
Now it didn't seem like much, and much it twas ain't,
And so I retorted, "Now isn't that just quaint?"
He chuckled, and grinned, and laughed, then choked,
And rolled on the grass till his clothes got a soaked.
And then he replied, while wiping his eyes,
"It ain't nice all, once you see through the lies."
And then he stretched out his arm and opened his hands,
And then from the scars, I now understand.
