The Masterpiece

Her heart fluttering like paper
Some think it’s the first sign of love
For others they can understand it's the thoughts that some could never even dream of
In fact it can’t be dreamt up, for only nightmares of it exist
A time where all time seems to stop
Life turns into an abyss
The clenching of her rising chest
The flurry in her heart
The reason she keeps everything trapped, inside, and dark
For if she opens her pounding heart
A storm will be unleashed
Each thought, and worry, and question will no longer be a hidden masterpiece
It's a miraculous piece of artwork
Something hidden inside for so long
Dulled of all its beauty from never seeing sun
The masterpiece of anxiety, a work of drowning moments
Each stroke and brush of sorrow
Each sweep and touch of fear
Each time she couldn’t remember how normal was supposed to feel
