The Message

I carved your name upon my wrist
In hopes it'd make you stay
But you took one look and that was it
You went your seperate way
Now I'm left with doubts and regrets
More pain than I could stand
So I let your name fade slowly
And then I carved it on my hand
This time it was different
It was not to keep you here
It was now a physical reminder
Of the cross that i must bear
I'll let this pain overtake me
I'll let it dim my light
Because now instead of being happy
Its everyday I fight
