The Monster

Ferocious, savage beast.
Keeper of the bell;
Our only warning of its otherwise silent approach.
Ravenous ravager, killer of kin!
A single roar,
Like an earthquake, shocks our sensitive ears.
Crash!
Screams of distress!
Our once beautiful home,
Now lay as broken mounds of wood and flesh.
Pain and loss,
Terror and confusion.
The monster licks its lips in satisfaction,
Triumphantly returning to its lair.
Horrid creature of darkness and destruction,
May your life be fraught with peril and agony for this
disastrous deed you have committed.
Gnashing of teeth,
Shredding of claws.
Revenge will be ours,
Cat.
