The Moon and Stars

I want the stars but understand that I may only achieve the Moon.
This recognition in no way hinders my ambitions for life.
Nor can I allow the successes of life to ignite my ego.
We seek a balance.
A balance of life that is forced to resemble an idea of perfection
that Society has manifested,
but does not exists. Not real!
I want the stars but understand that I may only achieve the Moon.
The victories of life are not the issue.
The lack of contentment that sweeps through like the wind
shortly after victory is to blame.
That willful ambition that tends to lead strong men.
Men who are holding the "Stars" but only achieving the "Moon."
"For what good is it to gain the world, but lose yourself."
I want the stars but understand that I may only achieve the Moon.
To live is to lose!
To love is to learn!
Encompassed by a fairly tale ending that's just beyond the horizon.
