The Moonflower

Fragile beauty
Delicate and lovely
Only blossoming on those fleeting nights
Under the protection of the moon's light
She gives off an ethereal presence
Pale petals with a shimmering luminescence
Vines of vibrant green
Climbing up to meet their queen
Leaves reaching out for the stars
Forgetting their waning hours

She whispers to the night
"Oh what gorgeous delight!"
The dark singing a silent lullaby
And the dancing of the starlight
A graceful farewell to the young flower
As the sun's rays break the calm sky
She retreats back down and waves goodbye
