The Morning Anxiety

The feeling that it is gaining closer
Growing darkness threatens to enclose him
A vast nothingness lies ahead

Uncontrollable fear grips him
The fear of the unknown has him
He is bound by chains that he can't break

Shadows are all he sees
Memories of the past flood his mind
Regrets emerge too often that he can't seem to get ahead

Questions flood his mind daily
Same people, same hurt
This is a product of his actions.

Depression sets in, he pushes people away

Maybe if he did something different
Could these chains possibly be broken

It is another day, another day with "the morning anxiety."
