The Most Dangerous Place

The most dangerous place used to be the safest
Nourished, cherished by her from whom we came
Any hidden nightmares her soothing voice chases
Protected from harm we silently sang

But now in the darkness quiet hope turns despair
The moans and the groans just fall on deaf ears
Their innocent blood shed without even a care
Weeping, wailing, no one sees countless tears

No chance at life given, light from their eyes taken
No chance for their wildest dreams to come true
The most dangerous place ought to be the safest
Sacrifice for them as was done for you
