The Mountain

I am a mountain, I am defined by what I do and who I see
I am the only one that can mold me
Others can help me grow and learn,
But others are mean and stern
They want to watch me fall under the stress,
To make me feel like less,
But I am a mountain and I will stay strong
My memory will stay for however long
I will stay no matter what the weather
I will be here forever
I will be nice to those who are good
But turn away from those I should
I have more mercy than a lot of people
Even though I have no steeple
I have heard that people define us
That we will follow them if we must
But really, we are the ones who define who we are
So let that be something you take, near or far
Because I am a mountain and I am defined by me
