The Next Year

We all know that the next is coming
But we do expect it when it is finally here
The numbers we see send people running
To the square, to see the counted and hear us all cheer

But the feeling of the next is very confusing
The feeling that soon have to start over again
We feel this every year, it is very amusing
That day, we rearrange numbers with our pen

There is fear as to what might appear
A sickness, disaster, a new decision
An announcement of something terrifying to hear
To this news all we can do is listen

The day the year ends another starts
Opportunity, reality, all of that changes
That night, that time, we begin to see sparks
Because that day is the day the world ages

This feeling we all soon forget
But we remember the night the whole world cheers
But when we feel it again, we do not fret
Because now it is the next year

This Poems Story

I made this poem back in December. I wanted to write something, but couldn\'t think of anything. I then saw the calendar in my history class and that inspired me to write about the feeling of New Years Day.
