The Night

The sun is setting
The light fades quickly
Here comes the incessant night
And the darkness that I fear so fiercely
A shade is a sense of comfort and serenity
But these are the curtains of sorrow that drown me
Is there a cure for this intangible pain
Before it drives me to the brink of insanity

A moment goes by
And the malady seems evanescent
Approaching the shores of tranquility
Yet I am highly hesitant

Reluctant to believe that all is well
That the tide has forever abated
And from the depths of depression
I have been emancipated

The sun has reappeared
So to my daily activities I attend
But how long will it be before
The sun sets again
