The night is still for all there is to hear

The night is still for all there is to hear
Those ceaseless rhythms of my company
My frozen limbs, the whispers in my ear
A shadow of the man I used to be

The winter breeze replaces autumn air
Once painted o’er in fiery fervent glow
Now blackened, browned, left crumbled in despair
Like all we were, now buried in the snow

So warm a day, but cold in night’s embrace
When evening’s sun has fallen down into
The fading gold, so sly to leave no trace
When time is gone, I’ll drift away with you

The moonlit sky, the stars, they swim above
With fools come pain, but you, I’ll always love
