The Noble Prize

I don't want a Noble Prize
Don't yearn for fortune and fame
I just wish to write and help
Others get through their pain.

I don't want to be known as an artist
Like Picasso was with his art
I only want to express to others
How to mend a broken heart.

I don't want to be like Beethoven
With his composite of Feur Elis
My only hope is that I can help someone
From their pain to find release.

I don't want to be De'Vince
Sabastian Bach or Chopin
It's the weary of heart I'd like to touch
With this pen I hold in my hand.

I don't aspire to be a great preacher
No, don't wish to be Billy Graham
But if with my poetry I have reached you
Then a Noble Prize winner I am.
