The Nowhere Place

Have you been to the nowhere place?
Just a little farther
Down the crooked tar street
The asphalt sweep where
No grass grows
Between the vacant barber's shop
And the disheveled post
That little patch of land
Where no one ever,
Ever goes
From wall to wall, it's two by ten
The space is just a gap
It's shrinking too, you know
Soon it won't even
Be nowhere
Anymore
