The painful maze

A lifetime of wandering in a maze of pain and struggle
Will leave you with a bitter taste
A faded wrinkly cloak around your aching aging body
A reproaching echo from within

In a desperate attempt to ease the pain
I surrendered to the maze

It robbed my sight It confused my path
it forced me down the lonely road
Where shattered dreams
and long lost hopes
resurfaced without mercy

repressed feelings are
Forced out to the light by the a fading heart

I gave up, gave in
Acknowledged I had ran out of time
Swam without worries
Along the crystal stream
Where a lifetime of regrets disguised in contentment was laid to rest
shattered dreams were given wings to fly beyond the stars
