The Pandemic

By

You came on me so quickly
I had no time to prepare
Before I knew what was happening
Your particles were everywhere.
You took those that I loved.
The old, the bold, and the beautiful.
I darted and dodged to avoid you.
I just did not know what to do.
Yet, I practiced social distancing,
Separation and even isolation
I was astoundingly aware of your danger
My closest friends, even became strangers

Prevailing leadership has been incredibly poor
Divisions among political factions continuously soar
We have faced major challenges before
Unseen dangers have often knocked at our door
When integrity and truth again is a nationwide plan
Even this awful pandemic, will not be able to stand.
