The Peace Treaty

I
I made peace with the tree of life
And now I will carve my words
Upon its sacred trunk no more
Because now the wind has promised
To sing them for all eternity
And the rain has vowed to write them
Endlessly upon the sands

II
I made peace with the tree of life
And it's roots have embraced my heart
Leaves now shade my hidden memories
Branches uplifting my weary soul
Fruits will sustain my endeavors
Its sap bathe my old wounds
And flowers reveal the beauty of my world
