The People of Tomorrow
Our children, they will live and laugh and play,
The troubles of the world they do not know,
But like it or not, they'll own it all one day,
So, we must teach them the way as they grow.
Manners, respect, and courage must be taught,
They must be shown how to give and receive,
Be shown that happiness cannot be bought.
The children will have to feel pain and grieve.
Today, they can be so hurtful and blind.
They long devices, not love and nature,
Unaware of delight they can find!
Because caretakers no longer mature!
Children are the people of tomorrow,
They need to have role models to follow.
