The Persecuted Church

These are people from around the world,
Whose love for Jesus came deep from the heart.
Their only crime; being called a Christian,
And a member of God's Persecuted Church!

They do not ask for our sympathy,
They only ask for our prayers.
They do not desire persecution lifted,
But rather that they may endure.

Some live in China, North Korea, and Laos,
Some live in Columbia, Iraq, and Iran.
These all being our brothers and sisters,
Living in gospel restricted or persecuted lands

Pray for each one as if bound with them,
Suffer with them as if by their side.
Yes, from all their pains and agonies,
Some have even had to die!

They never hated those that hated them,
Just counted worth to suffer for their Lord!
They leave behind this heavenly legacy:
The Crown of Life becoming their great reward.
