The Pillars Of The World

The two giants stood tall and strong
Never knowing that their demise was near
No one knew what would happen that fateful day
As death flew from the heavens
Descending with a screeching song
The unprepared defenders could only stop and gaze in fear
And wonder how their world could end in such a way
Not one but two of the giants fell that fateful day
They will never again be tall or strong
Only piles of rubble and shattered bone
They will never again call this world their home
They will never have the eyes of the world upon them
They will never again see the light of day
Even though we caught it all on film
Their legacy will live on
They will arise from the ashes and become glorious spectacles
Of mans' endeavors
That will be the coming of the dawn
That will be their immer
