The Place I Love

If the Earth only held me once,
Rock-a-bye Baby I’d forever want to be
As I basked in her eternal revolving energy
The flower pedals always pointed upward
No matter the evolving movement of the Sun rays
The buds of the blossoms never complained
She heard not more of their woes from the skies,
Yet she heard them always reaching for that purer kiss
If they ever were engulfed to wither by the sorrows,
The next season,
When the Sun finally shone again,
They’d being saying,
“Excuse me while I reach for the skies once again…”
