The Plane

In the silence and the darkness
the monotonous muffled hum drones on
interrupted by tiny jiggles
that remind of our vulnerability.

Encased in the shadows
two by two rows of tiny lights
shine down on hairy half-circles,
each different and all the same.

Inside each orb dwell a thousand thoughts.
unfathomable memories.
wistful wishes and dancing dreams.
that I will never know.
