The Plea

I'll give you an answer to that ancient plea,
"Tell me a story, that I will be free."

The one filled with faeries that only I can see,
The one with mermaids that swim to me free.
The story with a trapped Princess waiting to be saved,
Surrounded by fire that only a prince could have braved.

The Prince had braved the fiercest dragon,
Just as the Kings heart began to blacken.
Only the Princess with her magic could save the King,
but only if the Prince promised a ring.

Not a big ring, just a simple ring with one diamond,
One diamond for when he saved her from a burning island.
Their love ran free just like her faerie,
But their kingdom was not ordinary.

So I gave you an answer to that ancient plea,
I told you a story and now you are free.
