The Poem

I searched high and low for this one poem
lost somewhere in my own home
so I turned the search inside myself
for words left dusty on a shelf
I listen hard for some I heard
somewhere long ago it's then I know
they're still here
this time mellowed some with age
spiced with wine leaves of sage
It would still be nice to find that page
that bitter time forgot to mention
It was mine
words to share comfort and care
caressing the reader even me
When I come across them someday again
the poem that reads as my old friend
never really lost just waiting to share
its moment again
