The Prize

I thought I had the love of my life
But it turned into a lie
For the one I cherished and gave my all
Turned to another guy

She threw me away
Like an old rag doll
Tattered, torn and stained
That's ok, because I've healed
But the scares, they still remain

I tried to move forward, but kept looking back
At the bridges as they burned
Trying to make sense of all of the pieces
And the lessons that I learned

Then out of the blue, another appeared
A princess so divine
She changed my life, she gave her love
Her beauty fills my mind

If I had a chance to make a wish,
This is what I'd say
To have my princess, by my side
Each and every day

To feel her touch, to feel her kiss
To look into her eyes
And to my ex, go play your games
As I walk away with the prize
