The psychotics

Yes, I know him now
Most of him in fact
His smile is so revealing
I wonder why I missed
The slight twitch
Under his left eye
Pointing to a distant pain
Now incurable.
His jaw droops
When nobody is looking.
To me he appears locked and tied
With steel ropes
Then without warning
He broke into a sprint
Abruptly stopping under a huge tree
He raised his hands to his eyes
Concentrating on his palm’s lines,
Searching for his fate
Or was he praying?
