The Rabbit Never Knew

The fox leads me down this road
The darkness settles in
A rabbit lain against the curb
Bleeding out her sin,

The moon shines down a beam of light
Dust motes circle falling through
Consuming as they dim the glow
The rabbit never knew,

The fox beckons out to me
Come my child follow
I will carve you out my love
I will make you hollow,

You want the pain to go my sweet?
You want to live a new?
Come into my hole my dear
I wouldn't lie to you,

The broken bracken under feet
The smell of damp and death
The promises of peace
Consume with every breath,

Look into my eyes young soul
And soon you'll feel no more
Just look at this torn rabbit
Who too knocked on my door.
