The Real Me

Some parts of her are sunset pink--
Young and innocent,
Inexperienced and pure,
Unknowing of the chaos going on all around her,
As she smiles and laughs, unable to stop.
But deep down, there's another part of her,
A darker one--
It's steel gray and living, but not really.
It's scared and alone,
Like plaid lines going every which way.
They seem like two different people,
But they are both parts of the same one:
Me.
