The Reasons Why

For our dads reliving their glory years
We're sacraficing with out fear
That's the reason why.

We stand out here in front of the crowd
Some one makes a play and they scream real loud
That's the reason why.

A mother's smile, a dad's sense of pride
A pretty girl's affection with her arms open wide
That's the reason why.

A free ride to college, or a dream of going pro
Hidden doubts and fears that we're not allowed to show
That's the reason why.

We're banged up from practice, but we suck it up just fine
There's a championship game, and our reputations are on the line
That's the reason why.

But these memories will sustain us long after we're old
We were Titans on the field, with hearts forged from gold
That's the reason why we were there.
