The River’s Edge

The River flows fast & loud tonight ...
I sit here to reflect in the pale moonlight.
I'm lost in a dream in a world full of fear ...
It's lonely and cold, and darkness is surrounding me here.

I've got to find a way to get out of this place ...
I don't want any part of this deceitful rat race!
As long as I keep optimisic thoughts in my head ...
I forget about those things I'm beginning to dread!

I'm dazed & confused, and I don't have a clue ...
I'm not really sure what I am going to do.
My strength from within will keep the negativity away ...
So I don't have anything trying to get in my way.

I hope I find someone that kinda feels the same way ...
And knows that I'm serious about not wanting to stay!
But if I don't, I guess it wasn't meant to happen that way ...
The journey is the REAL adventure, anyway!!

I know that I will be protected by GOD ...
And His Angels will get me safely through the unforseen fog.
And when I emerge I will have become more than I was back then ...
Once upon a time that I can't remember when!
