The Rose

When you bloom in the spring
So beautiful so gracious
And young you look.
Your petals so red and fresh
Casting a small shade
And receiving a single light ray.
Your heart so pure
Your roots not yet deep into the soil,
Living off the end of a rainbow
A dreamy land of yours.
“What can you see rose?
With your beautiful eyes
Tell me what you see”
“I see a green land
And busy bees
Such a peaceful world
With a long adventure to live for”.
“What’s that creature?
What’s that furry beast?”
“A future friend of mine
The one to share my sun and breeze”.
So lovely so innocent
A symbol of love you are,
A gift of a beautiful Valentine.
