The Rose

The splendor of God is clearly on display
Through the rose, whose colors shine in a glorious array
The patterned leaves of vibrant green
Foster themselves amongst thorns unseen
As light bounces off each delicate petal
And the stunning butterflies softly settle,
The beautiful creation becomes sublime
In a glory that lasts through all strands of time
Glowing in the sunlight, it stands proud and tall
Masked in a beauty that exceeds all
But as the first sign of winter comes around
Its petals softly fall to the ground
Petal by petal its beauty fades away
Chilled by the air of a winter day
Just as time seems to be running out
And death of the rose cold brings about
The shimmering rays of sunlight breaks through
And the radiant flower is born anew
An abundance of blooms begins to appear
Growing larger in stature as spring draws near
