The Saccharine Love, I Once Had

I've got a cotton candy heart that sticks to everything it
comes in contact with; You had a sweet tooth that could only be
cured by the sweetness in my chest. I thought we were a perfect pair
but after a while the ice in your cold heart started to melt and the
remains of our love was merely a sticky mess I couldn't clean up.
You were left with solely a cavity due to your love for saccharine,
but I was left with a pastel clutter strewn across my soul,
staining my memory every time I tried to clean up the chaos.
While I consider the stains an addition to my long list of flaws,
they remind me of a time where everything was okay for a while.
I can only hope that you remember too.
